No matter where you are, you can walk into any location and find a clearly displayed list of their GF-friendly sauces and toppings (all of their sauces are gluten-free and they offer an array of gourmet toppings to suit your taste). The ultimate highlight though? They offer a gluten-free bun, supplied by O’Doughs of North York.
Don’t eat meat? They got you, too! Hero has partnered with Sol Cuisine to provide their veggie Soul Burger, which is also gluten-free. They have carefully covered all of their bases and I think they are doing a darn good job for a well-known chain.
I spoke with Dante, Marketing Specialist at Hero Certified Burger, who gave greater insight into their cross-contact practices:
“We have our “Gluten-Free” options right at our front cash for customers to glance at and make a decision. When asking for a gluten-free bun, our staff will ask “allergy or preference”. When “allergy” is indicated, the cooks gloves will be changed, the bun will be toasted in a separate toaster or on grill after being throughly cleaned and the topping station will also be completely sanitized as not to cross contaminate.”
Hero Certified Burgers has several locations around the GTA, visit their website for more details.
