Before I really get into this review, I have to tell you that I have a complete soft spot for fried foods, that crunchy texture just gets me. So when I can find a gluten-free version of my favourite fried items, you better bet I do a happy dance. Rumour had it that Chadwick’s on Dupont made a killer fried chicken, that happened to be gluten-free. I hopped on the phone to confirm, and on top of that they offer a fried fish dish and have a dedicated fryer for fries. Dream.Come.True.
British-style pub fare with a Latin twist is what you can expect at this Annex diner. The fried chicken is Costa Rican-style, after the chef’s native country with weekly tacos, tortas, cochinita plates, to name a few. From classic brunch to dinner, no gluten-free patron will go hungry with a slew of options that will satisfy everyone. For me, I was swooning over the Korean Meatballs and the house-made sausage.
