Always a sucker for markets, I often find myself looking for excuses to venture to St. Lawrence to peruse the aisles and explore the area. In recent years, there has been a bit of resurgence, with new restaurants setting up shop along the Market St. strip. One of those restaurants is Bindia, a modern Indian restaurant serving some delicious gluten-free eats. Indian cuisine is typically gluten-free friendly, which is awesome because I love the bold and spicy flavours.
Bindia is so darn good- seriously everything is beyond delicious. From lamb to chicken to chickpea to lentil, I tried it all! The chicken curry was out of this world, with a great amount of kick. The pakoras were beyond crispy and well-balanced with curry spice. The chana masala was incredible; I swear those chickpeas melted in my mouth! I’m not much of a lamb fan, but I LOVED the lamb curry- that’s got to say something. Wish I could say I shared, but I didn’t and I have no shame. The authenticity can be tasted, as everything is scratch-made daily.
They are very aware of rising food allergies and dietary restrictions, notifying guests through a legend on their menus. Aside from food, they offer certified gluten-free vodka- hello cocktails!
So whether strolling through St. Lawrence or craving some great ethnic foods add Bindia to your list.
